Last week

Last week was slightly mad to say the least. I had two exams on Monday and Tuesday which went ok.....I think! Then I said goodbye to St Andrews and travelled down to Edinburgh where I stayed for the rest of the week. Sadly I wasn't there purely for retail therapy, my brother was having an operation so I was up at the hospital for most of the week keeping him amused (or so I like to think!).  Visiting hours didn't start till 2pm at the hospital so I still managed to fit in some wandering around Edinburgh!

Giant, shiny wonderfulness in Harvey Nichols
Blazer and Top - H&M
Shorts and Flats - GAP
Scarf - Little shop in Edinburgh

A little too much time on my hands

Possibly the best cake I will ever eat!

Butterfly World!

I think this is pretty much everything I did outwith the hospital....apart from making the huge mistake of going to Ikea and buying so many things that I really don't need!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

Pippa Lynn

I told myself I wouldn't post till Tuesday (my last exam) and do some serious study.....clearly worked huh? Is it just me, or are you drawn onto sites and end up buying things you really don't need?
Anyway, this is just a quick post about a label I stumbled upon literally 20 minutes ago! It's called Pippa Lynn and was only started last year, inspired by Brick Lane / East London style. You can buy it online at Asos and apparently Tesco (well Florence and Fred) stock a few items on their site.

I absolutely love the first outfit. The patterns and bright colours are pushing all the right buttons!

The exam starts......now!

I haven't been posting very much, mainly due to the horrible, HORRIBLE invention that is the exam. I have thus been living in my pyjamas for the majority of the past 2 weeks while attempting to learn everything I should have learnt over the year. Simple!
I thought instead of moaning I would accept my inevitable failure and go out with some style! Easily achieved with the help of these bad boys:

Pen - Orla Keily (nom)
Cat Highlighters and Union Jack Pencil Tin - Paperchase
Recycled Floral Notebooks - www.paperie.co.uk
Cupcake Notepad - Fred Flare
Sushi Erasers - Available in random stationery shops!

I have a slight obsession with stationery and seem to have a collection of notepads (I dread to count how many) that have never been used. Do you share my love of stationery? xx

A realisation

The other day I realised that I have never owned a pair of sandals (except for maybe a bright yellow pair of jelly sandals when I was 7). It seems crazy that I've managed to come so far without a pair, so I've been looking around to try and find some.
So it turns out there are ALOT of sandals to choose from.....all different heights, straps, colours...I could go on.
I thought it would be easy to find a pair, but it turns out I was wrong. I have however managed to narrow it down to these guys...

And here are some pretty photos:

If I've used your photos I can delete/credit them :)

Time for some more careful consideration...

Lazy Oaf

When did it get so good?!?
I saw a t-shirt in a vintage/boutique shop the other day and presumed it was the '80s finest, but on closer inspection it was actually part of this seasons Lazy Oaf designs!

And my favourite..........

Maybe it's just the thought of being a duck that appeals to me, but I really really want this now!

Bargains galore!

I'm the first to admit that I'm a sucker when it comes to bargains. It may be a top which I previously thought "Eurgh, who on earth would wear that?!?" but if it's in a sale, I should probably buy 2!
On Sunday I went to a car boot sale with my parents on the quest for some board games (for an epic game night I am planning) and found a brand new Monopoly "Glasgow edition" game for a mere £2! The games were mainly what I was looking for, but I got slightly side tracked......

An Elizabethan tea set! I fell in love with this straight away! (£3)

Rucksack with a cool print (£1)

Limited Edition Elton John "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" album (£2, amazing right?)
Silver Cake Tongs £1!

I'm very pleased with myself to say the least, although I've now developed a want for as many tea sets as I can cram into my cupboard....this will not end well!

It's a nice day for a white wedding

I didn't intend to be, but this morning I was glued to the TV to watch the royal wedding! It's been fairly hectic in St Andrews this week as there have been so many organised events to celebrate today, but up until today I think I'd managed to miss most of it!
I was blown over by the wedding dress, Sarah Burton has worked some incredible McQueen magic! I thought the mother of the bride also looked lovely, very simple and elegant. It was lovely to see how genuinely happy couple were today, it made me smile :)

.....more importantly, how fantastic is the cake?!? It could probably feed Britain for a week!
Have a lovely weekend everyone :)
